Jason Statham Set to Return for FAST AND FURIOUS 8
Jason Statham confirmed in an interview with Access Hollywood that he will be reprising his role of Deckard Shaw in Fast and Furious 8. Statham played one hell of a badass villain in Furious 7, and it is awesome to know that he'll be back to go ballistic on Dom and his team again. This is what the actor said:
“We’re already talking about doing another one, Part 8. I’m a newcomer, I just got invited to the party in this last one, so it’s nice to know I’m going to be doing another.”
There's no information on how exactly his character will be utilized, but I assume he will be at least one of the primary villains. Who knows though, maybe they will use him in a different way this time around. The last time we saw the character he was being locked away in a maximum security prison.
Kurt Russell's character is likely to come back as well. He's too much of a badass not to see in the franchise again. I would love to see his role get beefed up a little more. It's going to be interesting to see how all of these characters evolve as we move into the next chapter of the story.
Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and most of their teammates are set to return for Furious 8, which will open in the US on April 14th, 2017. We are still waiting to see who will direct the movie, but I doubt it will be James Wan or Justin Lin as they are moving on to bigger and better things.
