Jennifer Lawrence Set to Star in Ron Howard’s Zelda Fitzgerald Biopic

Jennifer Lawrence has landed herself another great acting gig. She is set to star in director Ron Howard’s biopic about famous Jazz Age socialite Zelda Fitzgerald. It’s amazing to see how Lawrence's career has completely taken off since her breakout role in Winter’s Bone

According to Variety, the story will revolve around Fitzgerald, “who after marrying famed author F. Scott Fitzgerald, tries to find her own voice in the jazz music scene as her husband rises through the ranks of great American novelists.” In case you didn’t know, her husband was F. Scott Fitzgerald.

This is another role that could earn Lawrence yet another Oscar nomination. Here’s a brief rundown of Zelda’s history:

She and Scott became the emblem of the Jazz Age, for which they are still celebrated. The immediate success of Scott's first novel This Side of Paradise (1920) brought them into contact with high society, but their marriage was plagued by wild drinking, infidelity and bitter recriminations. Ernest Hemingway, whom Zelda disliked, blamed her for Scott's declining literary output, though she has also been portrayed as the victim of an overbearing husband. After being diagnosed with schizophrenia, she was increasingly confined to specialist clinics, and the couple were living apart when Scott died suddenly in 1940. Zelda died later in a fire at her hospital in Asheville, North Carolina.

Lawrence will be teaming back up with producer Allison Shearmur, who worked on the Hunger Games films. Emma Frost (Shameless, The White Queen) was hired to write the script for Zelda.

Lawrence will next be seen in the sci-fi thriller Passengers opposite Chris Pratt. She is also set to star in Darren Aronofsky’s new film alongside Javier Bardem.
