Jerry Lewis Will Join Nic Cage and Elijah Wood in Cop Drama THE TRUST

We already knew that Nicolas Cage and Elijah Wood were teaming up to play corrupt cops in The Trust, but now Deadline reports that film legend Jerry Lewis has signed on to play Cage's father in the movie.

Lewis, who has appeared in films ranging from The Nutty Professor to The King of Comedy, is one of cinema's remaining living legends. He's currently 88 years old, and though in the later years of his life he's become more famous for hosting the Muscular Dystrophy Association's Labor Day Telethon, he still occasionally acts in film and television. This is a big "get" for directors Ben and Alex Brewer, and aside from the fact that a corrupt cop movie starring Cage and Wood sounds weird and kind of awesome, it'll also be great to see Lewis playing Cage's father. Will he try to mimic any of Cage's strange acting tics, I wonder? How great would that be?
