Jesse Eisenberg Unlocks His Soldier Abilities in New AMERICAN ULTRA Trailer
Project X director Nima Nourizadeh teamed up with Chronicle writer Max Landis for his second film, American Ultra, and now the movie has a second trailer. Jesse Eisenberg stars as a pothead burnout who works at a convenience store and is suddenly activated as a super soldier, and with his girlfriend (Kristen Stewart) in tow, he tries to figure out what the hell is happening as an agent played by Topher Grace sends more people after them.
This looks like a fun, small-scale spy thriller that has a ton of potential. I'm excited about this one. How can you not be excited for any film with a supporting cast that includes Connie Britton, Tony Hale, Walton Goggins, and Bill freakin' Pullman? There's also a clip for the movie that shows a little more of the scene in which Eisenberg's character is freaking out about the discovery that he has military-level hand-to-hand combat abilities, which you can watch below the new trailer.
American Ultra hits theaters on August 21st.
