J.J. Abrams Presents Mystery Box Playing Cards and Lockbox

If you haven't seen J.J. Abrams' 2007 TED talk about "The Mystery Box," you should watch it (here). Essentially it is about the joy of not knowing, which is a rare thing in a world full of spoilers and instant Google searches. Borrowing on that theme, the producer- director has teamed up with Theory11 to create the most premium playing cards I've ever seen. Each deck holds a mystery and surprises inside its design. A single deck will cost you $10, of which $1 will be donated to charity.

Also available is a lockbox made from 100 year old reclaimed wood that is iron-branded. The lock is unique because it's an alpha-numeric combination lock. 12 decks and a letterpressed note sealed with a black wax from Abrams is included. Each lockbox is handcrafted, which is why they cost $149.95.
