J.J. Abrams Wants to See a STAR WARS Film Based on the Knights of Ren
As you know, Lucasfilm is planning on making lots of Star Wars films. Some of those films will continue the original saga that started with A New Hope, and some of the films will be standalone stories that will be a part of the "A Star Wars Story" collection.
As of right now we have the Episode VIII and IX saga films coming, and as far as standalone films there are officially Rogue One and the Han Solo movie. Of course, more films will be added to the list because Lucasfilm and Disney are hoping to one day be releasing two Star Wars films a year.
Director and producer J.J. Abrams has an idea for what one of these standalone films should be. While talking to Collider, he says that The Knights of Ren would be a cool story to tell.
"I gotta say Kathy Kennedy, who’s running it all, she seems to be pushing all the right buttons. There isn’t something that I’d love to see—I guess the one thing I would say is there’s a Knights of Ren story that I think would be pretty cool to tell."
Well, if anyone has any pull about what Star Wars movies we could see it would be J.J. Abrams. If he's really serious about what he says here, then he better be pitching that to Lucasfilm! You know they would take Abrams seriously, and they'd probably actually do it if Abrams agreed to direct it.
There's so much we don't know about the Knights of Ren. I'm sure we'll learn more as the saga films continue to play out, but the fact that Abrams thinks a solo film is a good idea tells me there's a lot more history to the Knights of Ren than what these upcoming films will tell us.
