J.K. Simmons Cast as Commissioner Gordon in JUSTICE LEAGUE

Director Zack Snyder has cast J.K. Simmons (Spider-Man) in the role of Commissioner Gordon in Warner Bros. upcoming Justice League movie! This casting is completely unexpected and incredibly awesome! Since Marvel doesn't plan on utilizing him in the upcoming Spider-Man films, DC has given him a home as a fantastic character!

There was a rumor that hit about a year ago that Commissioner Gordon was dead by the time of the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. If Gordon is set to appear in the Justice League films, then we know that rumor can't be true because Justice League will clearly take place after the events of Dawn of Justice

Simmons will join Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. Chris Terrio wrote the screenplay for  the film, which is set to be released in two parts. Justice League: Part One will start shooting in April and is set to be released on November 17th, 2017. Part Two will hit theaters a couple years later on June 14th, 2019.

Simmons is a hell of a fine actor, and in 2015 he won a Best Supporting actor Oscar for Whiplash. He's a perfect choice for the role of an older Commissioner Gordon, and I'm excited to see how he plays the character in Justice League
