JOHN WICK 2 Adds New Faces and Brings Back Some Returning Cast Members

John Wick 2 is adding some more bodies for Keanu Reeves to mow down in the upcoming action sequel. Deadline reports that Ruby Rose (Orange is the New Black, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter), Riccardo Scamarcio (Burnt), and Peter Stormare (Fargo) have all signed on to join Common, who's playing one of the villains, as the new kids on the block in the assassin thriller. As for John Leguizamo, Ian McShane, Bridget Moynahan, Tom Sadowski, and Lance Reddick from the first film? Yeah, they're thinkin' they're back.

We're not sure what is going to bring Reeves' title hero out of retirement this time (hopefully not the death of another dog), but the actor had some very interesting things to say about the film a little while back that may help us understand the thematic elements at play in the sequel:

“I think we have a really good premise, and it’s an organic premise. It’s basically — to me there’s John Wick and then there’s John. You know, John is the married guy whose wife just died, and that five years of his life. Then there’s John Wick, who’s the mythical assassin. In this, John Wick’s past comes and infiltrates John’s life and John Wick, in a way, has to fight for John.”

Filming is underway in New York and the production will head to Rome early next year (John Wick's going international, baby!). There's no official release date set yet, but trust me, I'll be keeping a close eye on this movie and I'll let you know when anything about it pops up that's worth writing about. I can't wait to check back in to The Continental and see what these crazy assassins are up to.
