Jon Bernthal Cast as The Punisher in DAREDEVIL Season 2!
We've been hearing rumors about The Punisher joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Daredevil, and now it's been confirmed! Marvel has officially announced that they've cast The Walking Dead and Fury star Jon Bernthal in the role of Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2! How freakin' awesome is that!?
Bernthal is a great choice to take on the role, and I couldn't be more excited that the deadly vigilante is actually going to be involved in the MCU now, and that Bernthal is the man who will be bringing him to life for Marvel.
Marvel describes him as "a vigilante who aims to clean up New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen by any means necessary, no matter how lethal the results." Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb adds:
“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences. Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”
This is such radically badass news, and the second season of Daredevil is already shaping up to be even more epic than the first season. I can't wait to see how The Punisher will be portrayed in the series. Maybe a lot of those other rumors that we've heard will end up being true as well.
