Josh Gad Voices a Reincarnated Dog (Seriously) in A DOG'S PURPOSE Trailer
I've never heard of A Dog's Purpose until right now, but since it's apparently National Dog Day, Universal has released the new trailer and poster for the upcoming film. Josh Gad (Frozen) provides the voice of a dog who grows up loving his human companion, but then the dog dies. Sad, right? Not in this movie, because he's reincarnated as another dog, and another one, and another one after that until he eventually comes back around to reuniting with his original owner. If you think that sounds cheesy, wait 'til you get a load of this trailer, which is drenched in so much cheese, Chester Cheetah himself would send it back to the kitchen for being too extreme.
(Oh, and also? There's an actor named "Pooch Hall" who appears in this movie. That's not a joke.)
A Dog's Purpose hits theaters on January 27, 2017.
Based on the beloved bestselling novel by W. Bruce Cameron, A Dog’s Purpose, from director Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules, Dear John, The 100-Foot Journey), shares the soulful and surprising story of one devoted dog (voiced by Josh Gad) who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he teaches to laugh and love. The family film told from the dog’s perspective also stars Dennis Quaid, Peggy Lipton, Britt Robertson, K.J. Apa, Juilet Rylance, Luke Kirby, John Ortiz and Pooch Hall.
