JUSTICE LEAGUE: GODS AND MONSTERS CHRONICLES - "Twisted" Impressions
Episode 1 of Justice League: Gods And Monsters Chronicles debuted today exclusively on Machinima, the first of three. The spotlight is squarely on the Dark Knight, but this isn’t the Batman most are accustomed to. To be fair, neither is Harley Quinn. Armed with a more impactful version of her trademark hammer, she certainly packs a punch.
While we’re on the topic of Harley, I’m consistently amazed at how much information DC Animation can pack into a small amount of time. The first episode clocks in at around 5 minutes, and yet we find out a multitude of things about Harley. On top of the list is just how far gone she seems to be in this universe, evidenced by the disturbing collection being housed in her fridge. Points for the grape soda. (I prefer Orange Crush, though.)
Secondly, she must have recently robbed a Home Depot, since she not only has a sledgehammer, but also a chainsaw. Third, a bit of empathy sets in when Batman is confronted with Harley’s warped vision of family. Oh, and also...poor Grandma.
DC Animation in general is fantastic, and Gods And Monsters Chronicles is no different. The voice cast for this and the upcoming movie is stellar, and the more adult themes of the animated movies never feel shoehorned in or forced just for the sake of being "mature".
Make sure to tune in Wednesday on Machinima.com for episode 2, and check out some teaser images from Episode 2 and 3 below.
