Justin Lin Possibly Directing Multi-part FAST & FURIOUS Finale

Director Justin Lin saved the Fast & Furious franchise, after Fast 6 was ready to move on after helming four films in the series. But because Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass are now working on a new Bourne Identity movie, Lin's Aaron Cross spinoff with Jeremy Renner has been put on pause.

With Universal Studio now focused on its monster cineverse and many of the Fast & Furious cast ready to move on from the franchise, the studio has decided to wrap things up with a two part final chapter. Director of Furious 7, James Wan will be directing The Conjuring 2 next. Deadline is reporting that Lin, now with a gap in his schedule, is being tapped to close out the franchise he rescued. Nine movies is a lot more than people would have thought the franchise was capable of. I have enjoyed all but the second movie and I think it's time to end it.
