Lea Michele and Kate Upton to Star in William H. Macy's THE LAYOVER

I meant to see William H. Macy's directorial debut Rudderless when it came out last year (read our review here), but it was one of those films I just didn't get around to seeing. But the leading ladies in his next project might be a bigger draw than his previous cast (no offense, Billy Crudup).

Deadline reports that Glee's Lea Michele and supermodel Kate Upton have been cast in The Layover, a road trip sex comedy that will serve as Macy's second directorial effort. The movie was written by Lance Krall and David Hornsby, who executive produces It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia as well as playing Rickety Cricket on the FXX comedy. Here's what the movie is about:

Michele and Upton play a pair of lifelong best friends who decide to avoid their problems by taking a vacation only to find that their plane has been rerouted due to a hurricane warning. To make matters worse, the two friends find themselves battling for the same guy during an extended layover in St. Louis. Macy will play a role in the film as well.

I'm guessing Macy isn't playing the guy that the two ladies are battling over, so we'll have to wait and see who else he can pull into this movie. For some reason, I don't imagine it'll be too difficult to find a guy willing to play someone who's caught between Lea Michele and Kate Upton.
