Underworld and Total Recall director Len Wiseman is set to direct a paranormal sci-fi thriller called Black Chapter.
The script was written by Zac Penn (The Incredible Hulk, The Avengers), and the story centers on "an FBI agent who is drawn into a classified military program that trains its operatives to use paranormal abilities."
One of the reasons the film came about is because apparently Wiseman has an interest in secret government programs such as CIA’s astral projection plans. I've looked into this kind of thing myself over the years, and there are some pretty crazy and very cool theories and rumors out there that would make fantastic movie story elements. I can see why Wiseman would want to play around with these ideas.
The movie is set up at Skydance Productions and producer David Ellison had this to say in a statement,
“Len and Zak have created a truly original piece of science fiction that reimagines the spy genre set in the world of the supernatural. This is exactly the type of original story telling that we want to produce.”
This seems like it will be a great project for the director to take on. It sounds like it could be a really fun and entertaining movie. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this film develops.
