Liam Neeson Narrates First Teaser Trailer For A MONSTER CALLS
Liam Neeson's voice was put to good use in the Chronicles of Narnia movies, and now he's being called on for a different kind of film. Focus Features has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Juan Antonio Bayona's A Monster Calls, a dark, moody-looking film that reminds me a little of movies they used to make for kids when I was growing up, like The NeverEnding Story. It also has a hint of Roald Dahl to it, with dreary life being upended by magical forces that enter a child's world.
A Monster Calls arrives in theaters on October 14th, 2016, and stars Neeson, Sigourney Weaver, Felicity Jones, Toby Kebbell, and newcomer Lewis MacDougall.
A visually spectacular drama from acclaimed director Juan Antonio Bayona (“The Impossible”), based on the award-winning children’s fantasy novel. 12-year-old Conor (Lewis MacDougall) attempts to deal with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness and the bullying of his classmates by escaping into a fantastical world of monsters and fairy tales that explore courage, loss, and faith.
