Loot Crate December 2015 Box Review - GALAXY

I just received my Loot Crate box for December 2015. This month's theme is "Galaxy" and it's packed full of all kinds of goodies that would make any geek happy. The box features items from franchises such as Star WarsGalaxy Quest, and Halo 5. Below you'll find a breakdown of what was in the box.

December 2015 Galaxy Button (Loot Crate Labs)

This month’s pin is a gold color with a spacecraft on it. Every box comes with a pin, and it's fun to collect them all.

We decided to commemorate Galaxy with this special metallic gold button.  Next month, we raise the bar even higher.  The countdown to launch has begun…

Exclusive Ugly Holiday Sweater T-Shirt (Loot Crate Labs)

I love this shirt! I'm a huge fan of art done in the style of retro 8-bit graphics and the print seems to have that kind of theme to it. The design also pays homage to space and space exploration vehicles.

2015 was a banner year for intergalactic exploration & discovery as Nasa’s New Horizons spacecraft flew within 8,000 miles of Pluto.  And with December’s rash of holiday parties filling up our calendars, we figured a new seasonal tee was on everyone’s wish list.  So wasting no time, we called our buddy, artist Drew Wise, and he designed our whimsical 8-bit mashup of historical space vehicles.  Roll out the red carpet, ‘cuz we’re thinking it might land you on a best-dressed list or two.

Halo 5: Guardians REQ Pack (343 Industries)

Halo 5 is one of those games that I own but I haven't had a chance to play it because I've been so damn busy. But when I do get around to playing it, you can bet your ass I'll use this code for the REQ pack in the game.

Halo 5’s new REQ System allows you to earn or buy REQ Packs, which contain virtual trading cards that grant you cool stuff, like cosmetic armor changes, weapons and even vehicles. What’s in our REQ Pack?  You won’t know until you open it!  Surprise!

Exclusive Star Wars Han Solo Vinyl Bobble-head (Funko)

Hell yeah! Who wouldn't want a Han Solo Pop! Vinyl bobble-head!? You won't be able to get this one anywhere else. It's a LootCrate exclusive.

We wanted to send off the year with loot of galactic proportions, so this was an easy choice. Knowing Looters deserved an exclusive collectible, we chose a beloved Star Wars icon and cloaked him in warm snow gear suitable for a long cold night on Hoth.  You won’t find this Funko in any other crate nor galaxy for that matter!

Exclusive Galaxy Quest Authentic Prop Replica Patch (Quantum Mechanix)

Galaxy Quest is such an entertaining film. It's one that I watch all the time. If I had a coat to sew this patch onto, I totally would. I guess I'll have to buy a coat now.

What do you call a Star Trek movie that’s not a Star Trek movie?  Why, Galaxy Quest of course!  Ranked as one of the best Star Trek movies in (or, in this case, out of) the franchise, we celebrate its fandom with an authentic prop replica patch like the one featured on the film’s command uniforms.  And as 2015 draws to a close, we eagerly look forward to the rumored debut of the film’s spin-off in the year ahead.  Looters rejoice!

Exclusive Star Wars BB-8 Crew Socks (Hyp Hosiery)

BB-8 is everyone's new favorite droid, and these socks are a fun addition to this month's loot. They're really cute, and my kids want to steal them from me. They're mine!

We’ve stuffed our December crate with care, and by care, we mean an awesome pair of warm new socks.  A breakout fan favorite months before Episode VII even screened, we chose BB-8 to be our droid of the year by having him grace this colorful pair of unisex crew socks.

Exclusive Halo 5 Ammo Tin Box (A Crowded Coop)

I don't own any ammo, but that OK — cool ammo boxes can be used to hold anything! I'll use it to pack my lunches in. It also makes a great decorative piece.

A tin by any other name would not be as cool as this one.  Decorative as well as functional, its look is inspired by the UNSC ammo crate tins used by Spartan soldiers in the Halo gaming franchise.  Perfect for storing your gear or grub, it features a hinged top and military-style clasp.

Overall, this was one of my favorite Loot Crate boxes since I signed up with them. It was full of lots of cool stuff that I'm into.
