Lumberjack to Face Off Against SUPERGIRL in CBS Series

It's inevitable, really: with so many superheroes in film and television these days, we were bound to hit a point of no return when it comes to the ridiculousness of the villains. You might argue that people like Captain Cold and The Weather Wizard from The Flash are obscure, but feast your eyes on this: TV Line is reporting that Melissa Benoist's Kara Zor-El, the hero at the center of CBS's Supergirl TV series, is going to face off against a villain named Lumberjack in the pilot.

Despite only appearing one time in DC Comic lore, the show's version of Lumberjack will be an established villain in that universe who has gone toe-to-toe with Kara's cousin (that'd be Superman) and is sent by a mysterious unseen villain to track down the full extent of Supergirl's powers and abilities. (We have to wonder, though, if he's already faced off against Superman, why wouldn't he just assume she has the same powers he does?)

Either way, there's sure to be a large audience for this show — at least at the beginning, when most of the older people who watch CBS regularly tune in out of sheer confusion, and the geek crowd tunes in out of pure curiosity.
