Mads Mikkelsen Is in Talks to Play the Villain in DOCTOR STRANGE
It looks like Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen is about to nab himself another big movie role in a big franchise film. According to Variety, the actor is in talks to play the villain in Marvel's big screen adaptation of Doctor Strange.
If he's cast, he will join Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, a former neurosurgeon who becomes the next Sorcerer Supreme and primary protector of Earth against magical and mystical threats; Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, who is Strange's mentor; and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, a character who also studies magic under The Ancient One.
There's no official information on which villain Mikkelsen would play in the story, but there's a lot of them to choose from. It has been rumored in the past that Dormammu would be the main villain in the film, and if that's true, Mikkelsen would be perfect. What Doctor Strange villain would you like to see Mikkelsen play?
Scott Derrickson is directing the movie from a script by Jon Spaihts. Doctor Strange will be released in theaters on November 4th, 2016. Mikkelsen has also landed a big role in Star Wars: Rogue One, and you can read more details on his role in that story here.
