Mark Hamill Wants to Voice The Joker in THE KILLING JOKE
DC Entertainment recently announced that they would be adapting Batman: The Killing Joke into an animated film. If there's any movie in which Mark Hamill comes back to reprise his role as the Joker, it has to be this one! I would love to see him voice the Joker again, and he hopes that he gets the gig!
When one of his fans approached him on Twitter about how much they want to see him take on the role again for this adaptation, he replied,
"You're not the only one w/ fingers crossed!"
Hamill previously said that he was going to retire his voice for the character, then later took it back. It seems like he's itching to come back for another round of Joker villainy. I would love to see him and Kevin Conroy reprise their roles for The Killing Joke. That would be epic! WB would be stupid not to get Hamill on board for this movie!
The story is based on the controversial and acclaimed graphic novel by Alan Moore and Brian Bolland. It follows The Joker as he escapes from Arkham Asylum and shoots Barbara Gordon, paralyzing her in order to terrorize her father, Commissioner Jim Gordon.
The animated movie comes out in 2016, and here's the synopsis for the comic:
According to the grinning engine of madness and mayhem known as The Joker, that's all that separates the sane from the psychotic. Freed once again from the confines of Arkham Asylum, he's out to prove his deranged point. And he's going to use Gotham City's top cop, Commissioner Jim Gordon, and his brilliant and beautiful daughter Barbara to do it.
Now Batman must race to stop his archnemesis before his reign of terror claims two of the Dark Knight's closest friends. Can he finally put an end to the cycle of bloodlust and lunacy that links these two iconic foes before it leads to its fatal conclusion? And as the horrifying origin of the Clown Prince of Crime is finally revealed, will the thin line that separates Batman's nobility and The Joker's insanity snap once and for all?
