Marvel Casts Zendaya Alongside Tom Holland in SPIDER-MAN Reboot
Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures continue to build the cast of director Jon Watts' Spider-Man reboot. According to Deadline, actress/singer Zendaya has been cast as a key role in the ensemble that they are building around actor Tom Holland, who is taking on the role of the Web-Slinger, and Marisa Tomei, who is playing Aunt May in the film.
The reports says that Zendaya was one of several actresses who were quietly testing for the part. She will be playing a character named Michelle, but other than that, there are no details on the character or how she will fit into the story. I guess there's a chance the character could be Michele Gonzales, who is supporting character in the comics.
Michele has been Peter Parker's roommate as well as a potential love interest. She is also a criminal defense lawyer in the comics, and she has an incredibly bad temper. She is also a student of Muay Thai and Tae Bo Kickboxing, so she can kick some ass when she needs to. She could be playing another character, it could be a completely new character altogether, but if it does turn out to be Michele Gonzales... cool!
The Spider-Man solo film will be released on July 7th, 2017. Do you have any ideas on who Zendaya could be playing?
