Marvel Closing in on Angelina Jolie to Direct CAPTAIN MARVEL

We've already heard rumors that Marvel was looking at possibly hiring Angelina Jolie to direct Captain Marvel, but it looks like the studio is starting to get serious about it. According to Collider, the actress turned director is under serious consideration for the gig.

There's no word on if an offer has been made, but it definitely sounds like there are talks going on between the two parties. Marvel is looking to bring on a high profile female director for the film, and Jolie seems to fit. Most of the projects she has directed have been personal labors of love, so who knows if she's even really interested in a film like this. Personally, I don't think Jolie is even that good of a director, and I think Marvel could do better. But if she takes it, maybe she'll surprise me.

The movie recently got itself a couple of great writers that consist of Guardians of the Galaxy scribe Nicole Perlman and Inside Out writer Meg LeFauveCaptain Marvel is currently set to arrive in theaters on November 2nd, 2018. We'll keep you updated on how this news plays out.
