Marvel Superhero Fire Fighter Helmets To Be Auctioned Off at NYCC

To commemorate 150 years of protecting New York City, the FDNY has teamed up with Marvel to auction off ten unique Marvel-inspired superhero Fire Fighter helmets. They will help raise funds for the FDNY Foundation. Thanks to New York Daily News, we have two of them to show you today. They are for Iron Man and Captain America.

The helmets were designed by top Marvel comic book artists that include Joe Quesada, Damion Scott, Kaare Andrews, and Walt Simonson. Some of the other helmets that will be on display were inspired by Black Widow, Spider-Man, and The Hulk. Lance Fensterman, Global Senior Vice President of ReedPOP, had this to say in a statement:

"We are very used to celebrating heroes at New York Comic Con, but they're the fictional kind. The fact is, the city's bravest do reside in New York City — and they aren't fictional superheroes — they are the real deal and they're the FDNY.”

If you're attending NYCC, the helmets will be on display in Artist Alley from Thursday 10/8 to Sunday 10/11 and the auction starts at 6:30 pm on Saturday.
