Marvel's AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and AVENGERS 4 Are Rumored to Have a $1 Billion Budget!
Marvel and Disney are sparing no expense on their next two Avengers films. According to Atlanta Business Chronicle, Avengers: Infinity War and the untitled fourth Avengers film will have a combined budget of $1 billion! If this news is true, this would make these films the most expensive movies ever made!
The $1 billion number comes from Pinewood Atlanta Studios co-owner Dan Cathy, who says, "We now have on the lot down there now the largest film production ever with a $1 billion budget." He's clearly referencing the upcoming Avengers films, which are set to be released in 2018 and 2019.
To put this into perspective, The highest budget for a single film goes to the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides with $378 million. As for film franchises, The Hobbit trilogy holds the record of $745 million, which was spread across the three films.
These movies are going to to be huge and epic, so it's not surprising that Disney would spend this kind of cash to make them happen. Disney is expecting them to do well at the box office, and I imagine they're hoping that these film pull off Avatar level box office numbers. I guess there's a chance that could happen. After all, these next two Avengers films are what Marvel has been working toward since the very beginning.
I have no doubt that directors Joe and Anthony Russo and their team are going to give fans something awesomely spectacular with these films, and I can't wait to see what it is!
