Michael Bay in Talks to Develop HUNTING EL CHAPO Film

Michael Bay is in talks to direct a film adaptation of the upcoming novel Hunting El Chapo. The novel, which will be released in October, will tell the story of an American agent and his journey to bring the drug lord commonly known as "El Chapo" to justice. Variety tells us that it's unknown whether Sony is asking Bay to produce or direct the feature. If the deal goes through, this will put the film in direct competition with Fox's project based on the same events with Ridley Scott attached as a director.

I'm never one to get overly excited about projects based on books that haven't been released yet. That said, the whole capture story and Sean Penn connection behind El Chapo is so crazy that I want to hear how it all went down...maybe not the way Scott or Bay would tell it...but I still want to see it. If you had to choose between Michael Bay and Ridley Scott making this film, which are you more likely to see?
