Michael Cera Will Play Robin in THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE
In an amusingly perfect bit of casting, Michael Cera is set to lend his voice to Batman's sidekick Robin in Warner Bros.' The LEGO Batman Movie. That should give you a good idea of the kind of annoying personality Robin is going to have in this movie.
Cera joins Will Arnett, who is set to reprise his role as the Dark Knight from The LEGO Movie. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who started this whole LEGO movie franchise, are only producing this movie. Chris McKay, the animation supervisor on The LEGO Movie, is set to direct from a script written by Seth Grahame-Smith.
There are no official details on what this film will entail, but Miller did say in a previous interview that it will pay tribute to every era of Batman Filmmaking.
"Rest assured that every era of Batman filmmaking will be acknowledged. There have been so many interpretations of Batman and there is so much to play with there. There are 40 versions of his origin story alone."
There's no doubt that this is going to be a great movie. I'd like to think that there's a possibility that it could even be more awesome than The LEGO Movie.
