Michael Keaton Gives High Praise to Tom Holland and the Marvel Process
After his stint as The Vulture in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Michael Keaton has nothing but love for all things Marvel. Deadline spoke to the actor who had nothing but positive things to say about the Marvel filmmaking process and likened it to a "well-oiled machine"...
"It is remarkable how they have got that whole thing covered in a really qualitative way...Just how efficient it is, in the best sense, and how it operates on a practical level. How organized they are about what they make and how conscientious they are about what they have. They’ve got really wonderful actors for one thing, but I guess that has always been the case. "
Keaton then went on to say the experience was similar to Batman in the work put in to protect the lore of heroes and villains within their respective universes. Things then switched to young actor and new Spider-Man Tom Holland, and Keaton called him a "great kid."
Keaton also mentioned that he hadn't seen Holland's appearance in Civil War, which I thought a little odd... but I guess when you're a grizzled veteran like him you don't need that much prep to jump into a role. Here's hoping his ignorance of the universe doesn't show in the film! Spiderman: Homecoming hits theaters July 7th!
