Netflix Developing "Gaming Based Drama" KISS ME FIRST

Netflix and Channel 4 are getting together to bring a six-part series to the streaming service that takes place half in the real world, and half inside virtual reality. Engadget reports that Kiss Me First is currently slated for production and after its run on British television, it will come to Netflix for an American debut. Here's a brief synopsis of the show:

It follows Leila, a 17-year-old girl, who quickly becomes addicted to Agora and meets Tess, a "confident party girl" who also "harbours a dark secret." The pair become friends in the real world, but Tess soon disappears, leaving Leila to assume her identity in Agora and find out what happened.

The show will be half live action and half "cutting edge CGI," according to the network. I'm definitely interested to see how "cutting edge" it'll be, considering so many shows have tried the concept and it never really measures up to the quality of modern gaming we have today. Another thing I'm interested in is that the series is being written by Bryan Elsley, who wrote the British teen drama Skins. No release date yet, but we'll keep you posted as more info becomes available!
