Netflix Just Bought Exclusive Streaming Rights to THE BLACKLIST

Netflix has made a deal with NBC and Sony Pictures TV for the exclusive streaming rights for the hit drama The Black List. They will be paying $2 million per episode, which beats the price of $1.35 million they are paying out for AMC’s The Walking Dead.

High priced syndication deals like these have previously been the domain of cable TV. In June, Netflix surpassed HBO with over 50 million subscribers and continues to grow quickly in international markets.

After Breaking Bad started streaming on Netflix, its ratings doubled. So these deals not only get Netflix more subscribers, but helps shows tap its huge subscriber base. I really respect Netflix as they make these aggressive moves. I can’t wait to see what they will do next.
