New DOCTOR WHO Photos, News, and EW Cover

The premiere of Doctor Who Season 8 is so close I can taste it. If you are not excited to see what Peter Capaldi brings to the show, you should probably see a medical doctor because you are most likely dead inside. Or you could have been turned into a Cyberman. With the premiere looming, the Doctor's PR machine is in overdrive. After months of silence, we’ve seen a couple of interviews this week, and now the Doctor is on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, we have photos from the first episode, and BBC America has announced a series of television events leading up to its debut.

The stills reveal that the first episode takes the Doctor and Clara back to Victorian England to see Vastra (and, presumably, Jenny and Strax). The feature length episode is called “Deep Breath” and was written by Steven Moffat. You will have a chance to see it on the big screen, as BBC America has once again partnered with Fathom Events to show it in theaters with 15 minutes of additional content.

On top of that, BBC America will air several Doctor Who specials, starting with "Doctor Who: The Companion" on August 16 and launching the “Doctor Who Takeover Week” on August 18. Starting on August 6, fans can vote for their favorite episodes, which will air in a Doctor Who marathon on August 24. Chris Hardwick will bookend the premiere with Doctor Who Pre- and Post-Shows.

Season 8 lands somewhere in time and space at 8 pm on August 23. If I had a TARDIS I would go there now.
