New GHOSTBUSTERS Image and Details About The Film's Ghosts

Paul Feig's new Ghostbusters has been a lightning rod of controversy ever since the female leads were announced, but hopefully by now the haters have had enough time to come to grips with the fact that women busting ghosts doesn't require a penis. EW has released a new photo from the film (above) that features stars Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Kate McKinnon, and Melissa McCarthy, as well as some new information about the kinds of ghosts they'll be busting when they hit theaters next summer.

(Beware, this information could be considered SPOILERY for those who want to be surprised by the movie.)

EW says that, in the new film, some of the ghosts will take the form of "Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters." It's not exactly an Earth-shattering revelation (especially considering reports that a prequel movie is in development), but I can see that being something that could be a nice surprise in the actual film that could put a smile on people's faces if they didn't know it was coming.

Ghostbusters arrives in theaters on July 15th, 2016.
