New GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Photos Feature Ego, Yondu, Rocket, Nebula, and More
Another image has surfaced of Kurt Russell in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He plays Ego the Living Planet, who also happens to be Star-Lord's dad. Director James Gunn previously explained that he worked out a very elaborate story with Ego the Living Planet and that he plays a very important part of the Marvel cosmic universe. He also recently revealed some of the powers of Ego, saying;
"Ego is a living planet who is able to manifest himself in different ways. He’s been alone for millions of years and he’s learned how to control the molecules around him in such a way as to create avatars of themselves, such as Kurt Russell. I think Ego was a very lonely character out there by himself and went off in search of love and perhaps found it in Quill’s mother."
The photo was revealed in a recent issue of Empire Magazine, and you can check out a couple other new photos that were released featuring Yondu, Rocket, Star-Lord, Drax, Nebula, and Gamora. When talking to Empire about the visual effects to bring Ego the Living Planet to life, he proudly revealed:
“We have over a trillion polygons on Ego’s planet. It’s the biggest visual effect of all time. There’s nothing even close to it. Which is cool.”
I can't wait to see that in all its glory!
