New Images For HBO's WESTWORLD, Which Arrives in 2016

Jurassic Park writer Michael Crichton made his feature directorial debut with a film called Westworld back in 1973. The film was about a theme park filled with androids, and when one of them (dressed as a cowboy) malfunctioned, the humans visiting the park found themselves in some pretty serious danger. HBO has been working on a TV adaptation of the film for a while now, with big names like Jonathan Nolan and J.J. Abrams producing it and people like Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, James Marsden, Evan Rachel WoodJeffrey Wright, and Thandie Newton starring. The TV show was originally supposed to debut this year, but the creative minds behind the series held back to make sure they could create compelling episodes beyond the already-produced pilot.

HBO has announced that the show will make its debut sometime in 2016, and they've released a batch of new images to give us a sense of how the series will look. With all of the talent associated with this project, and a fantastic network like HBO behind it, I'm not kidding when I say that this has the potential to be one of the greatest shows in TV history. That's obviously a lofty goal, but I'm just hoping we get a cool, thoughtful, deep show we can really chew on when it debuts next year. Check out the images below.
