New Info on The Starkiller Base and General Hux in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

The hype for Star Wars isn't going to die down anytime soon, especially with all of the stuff that Lucasfilm is releasing and all of the cast and crew talking about the new movie. In the process, they've all managed to keep any major story info under wraps, which is really surprising in this day and age.

Some of the things we've recently posted about it on the site include a new TV spot with lots of new footage; J.J. Abrams talking about Luke Skywalker's mythos in the story; and some new details about Lupita Nyong'o's Maz Kantana and Andy Serkis' Supreme Leader Snoke.

Now, thanks to EW, we have some additional details on the deadly Starkiller Base in the story that was teased in the poster. While talking to the site, Abrams confirmed that it is indeed a Death Star follow up saying:

“It is very much — and it’s acknowledged as such in the movie — apparently another Death Star. But what it’s capable of, how it works, and what the threat is, is far greater than what the Death Star could have done. Starkiller Base is another step forward, technologically speaking, in terms of power.”

There's no doubt that we'll get to see that power demonstrated in the film. Domhnall Gleeson's character General Hux is a high-ranking member of the First Order, and there a possibility he could be the guy in charge of managing the Starkiller Base. When talking about his character, the actor says:

“There’s an air of superiority, and being better than those people around you. He’s pretty ruthless. A strong disciplinarian would be a mild way of putting it….You don’t get that high up in your life that quickly unless you’re pretty ruthless. You have to put a few people down on the way to get there.”

Gleeson goes on to reveal that, even though they are on the same side, he and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren are at odds:

“He’s kind of opposite Kylo Ren. They have their own relationship, which is individual and unusual. One of them is strong in different ways than the other. They’re both vying for power.”

I'm already excited for this movie, I already have my tickets, but all this new information that is being released in interviews and trailer is only getting me more and more excited! Star Wars: The Force Awakens will hit theaters on December 18th. For much more information on the film, click here.
