New Rumors on Benicio Del Toro's Character in STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI
So there has been some info on Benicio Del Toro's character recently that has risen up from the depths of the internet, which honestly as I read about it, just asked more questions. The new info gives details to Del Toro's appearance as well as his ship's appearance. Both of which are somewhat at odds with each other.
According to Making Star Wars, Del Toro's characters name or at least on set code name is D.J. He wears all black with a trench coat and Han Solo blaster belt. He is dingy and dirty with short hair and a weird bill-less cap. The report says:
"He belongs in the criminal underworld by the looks of him. The man in black-style character we heard about is certainly there but his style evokes a few things in the design. His trench coat reminds me of Anakin’s Revenge of the Sith costume in that its lapels evoke a tabard look and its black leather. All of this makes his ship all the more curious to me."
His ship, however, is very fancy. It has a sharp and classy interior that looks like a mix between an Apple product and a Star Trek ship. Rumors are stating he may be a Gambler or and undercity character on the new planet of Canto Bight which is a kind of Casino Planet. They offer up a bit of a description of the ship:
"The cockpit has a very nice singular red seat for him to pilot from. In the back of the ship, it has a communal section like the Falcon where a crew could sit and socialize. But instead of dingy white seats and a chess board it has a very nice bright curved blue booth with a table (no word on a chess board) and it looks more like a nice hotel than something Han Solo would live in... If the Falcon is a Winnebago this ship is a luxury yacht made by Bill Gates."
He sounds like a cool character, but there is still no official word on if he is good or bad. Only time will tell.
