New Trailer for Stephen Hawking Biopic THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING
A new trailer has been released for the Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything. The film stars Eddie Redmayne (Les Miserables), and it looks like it could win him an Oscar nomination. It really looks like it would be a challenging role for anyone to take on, but Redmayne seems to just disappear into it. It's really amazing to see. In an interview with Yahoo, the actor said,
"The story of Stephen dwarfs the illness. For him, it is of no importance. He didn’t ever want to see a doctor again after he was diagnosed. He is someone that lives forward and lives optimistically. So, for me, what this film was about was an unconventional love story, a film about loving in all its guises."
The film was directed by James Marsh (Man on Wire), and it also stars Felicity Jones, Charlie Cox, Emily Watson, Simon McBurney, and David Thewlis.
Inspired by the memoir "Travelling to Infinity: My life with Stephen" written by his ex-wife Jane Hawking, the film tells the story of one of the world's greatest living minds who falls deeply in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde (Felicity Jones). Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis of ALS at 21 years of age. With Jane fighting by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of – time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed.
Focus Features will give the film a limited release starting on November 7th.
