Official Synopsis for WONDER WOMAN Has Been Released
Warner Bros. has released the first official synopsis for DC Entertainment's upcoming big screen adaptation of Wonder Woman. I really liked how the character was portrayed in Batman v Superman, and it got me really excited to see the solo film that director Patty Jenkins is currently working on.
The studio is bringing the film to Comic-Con where they are sure to show off some new footage from the film to get fans excited. While we wait to see what exactly they'll show off, you can read the synopsis for the film below, which reveals a few plot details and also that the script was written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns.
Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Joining Gadot in the international cast are Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner and Saïd Taghmaoui. Jenkins directs the film from a screenplay by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, story by Zack Snyder & Allan Heinberg, based on characters from DC Entertainment. Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston.
So far, the small amount of footage that I've seen from the movie has looked great. I can't wait to see more at Comic-Con! We'll be there covering the event, so stay tuned for details! The film is scheduled to be released on June 2nd, 2017.
