Oscar Isaac Says STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII Immensely Tests Our Heroes

Over the past couple of months, we’ve seen lots of rumors and possible story information regarding Star Wars: Episode VIII. We’ve got a couple scene descriptions involving Luke getting pissed off, some details on a scene involving the Knights of Ren, a possible leaked title, and even some details regarding Tom Hardy’s involvement with the movie. It has yet to be seen if any of this stuff turn out to be legit, but one thing that we can count on to be solid is how the actors feel about the story and what’s in store for their characters.

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Oscar Isaac offered up some of his thoughts on the film. He said that he has a lot more to do in this next chapter of the story and talked about the heroes of the story and how they will be tested.

"What happens now is the heroes get tested. All three of them. [They] get tested immensely."

It seems Poe Dameron, Rey, and Finn all have some intense adventures ahead of them in this film. He added BB-8 into the mix saying:

"BB-8's doing all right. BB-8 gets tested too! Everybody gets tested! It's the dark second chapter, but not really dark."

It sounds like this is going to be the Empire Strikes Back of the new trilogy! Isaac goes on to say that he’s locked into the Star Wars franchise until 2020, but who knows what will happen with Isaac and the character beyond that. I’m excited to see where this all leads.

Star Wars: Episode VIII is currently shooting, and it will be released on December 15th, 2017 release.
