Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen Aren't in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE
Patrick Stewart recently offered up some news that might be pretty disappointing to some of you X-Men movie fans. The actor was recently on an episode of Larry King Now, and was asked if he would reprise his role as Professor X in Bryan Singer's upcoming film X-Men: Apocalypse. This was his reply:
"No, nor Sir Ian McKellen either. I was learning quite a lot more about [the film] last night, and it is going to be looking very much at the earlier lives of all our characters, and so I don’t think we’ll be making an appearance."
Since the movie is going to focus more on the 1980s years of Professor X and Magneto, it makes sense that these two actors wouldn't be involved. The only reason they appeared in the the last movie was because of the time travel element.
The film will involve ancient mutants and explore a deeper relationship between Magneto and Mystique. We know that James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Oscar Isaac will be in the film, and apparently Evan Peters will make an appearance as Quicksilver for at least one scene.
The movie is set to be released on May 27th, 2016.
