Watch: This Cheesy Song is The Way To Perfectly End Every Movie

Even if you think you've never heard Dire Straits' 1985 song "Walk of Life," I can almost guarantee you'll recognize it when that opening synthesizer riff comes alive. It's a brilliant representation of a specific kind of '80s music that sounded 100% earnest and genuine at the time of its release, but has since aged into a perfectly cheesy relic of the era. It also happens to be the perfect closing song for every single movie.

That's the theory behind the Walk of Life Project, a passion project for writer and editor Peter Salomone that edits the song over the closing credits of movies ranging from Casablanca to The Dark Knight Rises. Your mileage may vary, of course, but I found this to be one of those things that is pretty funny at first, actually loses its humor after a while, but then comes full swing all the way around to being hilarious.
