PERSONAL SHOPPER Trailer: Kristen Stewart Gets the Fright of Her Life
Kristen Stewart has gotten a lot of crap over the years for her association with the Twilight franchise, but I'm not sure it's entirely fair that for many, she's still carrying the stink of those movies all these years later. She's been turning in some pretty solid performances in her post-franchise days, and after hosting SNL this past weekend, we have a trailer for her latest film, Personal Shopper. It looks like a dark ghost story in which Stewart is visited by the spirit of her dead twin brother, and at least one more person turns up dead because of her communion with the afterlife. It's directed by Olivier Assayas, who reportedly pulled a terrific performance from Stewart in Clouds of Sils Maria (which I haven't seen myself yet), so here's hoping their collaboration results in another strong performance this time around.
Personal Shopper hits theaters on March 10, 2017.
Maureen is a young American in Paris making her living as a personal shopper for a celebrity. Also, she may have the psychic ability to communicate with spirits, just like her twin brother, Lewis, who recently passed away. Maureen soon starts receiving mysterious messages coming from an unknown source. In Personal Shopper, Olivier Assayas (who shared the Best Director prize at this year’s Cannes for the film) enters the fashion underworld, revisiting the classic codes of genre films – and teams up again with Kristen Stewart after their critically acclaimed collaboration on Clouds of Sils Maria (for which she was the first American actress ever to win a French César Award).
