Peyton Reed Says He'd Love to Return To Direct ANT-MAN 2

Right now, Marvel doesn't have any officially announced plans for Ant-Man 2. But that doesn't mean the studio and filmmakers aren't looking ahead and thinking about it anyway. I already wrote about Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige's explanation of at least one of the things that would happen in a sequel (something that no other sites have really picked up on, by the way), and at last night's Ant-Man premiere, Variety spoke with director Peyton Reed about the possibility of coming back to direct a sequel:

“If we’re fortunate enough to do another ‘Ant-Man’ movie, I would love to do it."

That may seem like a given (a director wants to return to popular cinematic universe to direct another movie? Stop the presses!), but after Thor: The Dark World director Alan Taylor's recent comments saying his experience on that movie was "something I hope never to repeat and don’t wish upon anybody else," it shouldn't be assumed that everyone always has an amazing experience working with Marvel Studios. (Remember Edgar Wright?)

Ant-Man opens on July 17th. For much more on the film, click here.
