Rachel McAdams Confirms DOCTOR STRANGE Rumors
A couple of weeks ago it was rumored that Rachel McAdams had been offered the lead female role in director Scott Derrickson’s Doctor Strange. Turns out there is some truth to that. In an interview with the LA Times, the actress was asked about the rumor, and she replied,
“It's still super-early days, and I don't know where that's gonna go, if it's gonna go anywhere at all."
So she has been in talks with Marvel, and she very well could have been offered the role, but she obviously has not yet accepted an offer, and there’s always a chance that she might not take it in the end.
This isn’t the first Marvel film that McAdams has been courted for. She was director Jon Favreau’s first choice to take on the role of Pepper Potts in Iron Man. There’s no word on why she turned down that offer, but it ended up being a great gig for Gwyneth Paltrow.
McAdams is a very talented actress, and I’ve enjoyed most of everything that she has been in. I would love to see her in Doctor Strange, but if it doesn’t work out I’m sure the studio has a list of other great actresses in line to fill the role.
