Real Life Video Games Attack in New PIXELS Trailer

TrailerMovie Pixels by Joey Paur

Another fun trailer has been released for the upcoming video game adventure film Pixels. It tells the story of classic video game characters hellbent on invading earth and destroying it. Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Peter Dinklage, and Josh Gad star in the movie as a group of gamers who are tasked with saving the world from these villains.

The new trailer not only offers some more footage from the film, including a clip of James' character killing a Smurf, but it also sheds some more light on the story and where it will take our heroes. The movie looks ridiculously silly, but it knows what it is, and it looks like it will provide some good entertainment.

As kids in the 1980s, Sam Brenner (Sandler), Will Cooper (James), Ludlow Lamonsoff (Gad), and Eddie “The Fire Blaster” Plant (Dinklage) saved the world thousands of times – at 25 cents a game in the video arcades. Now, they’re going to have to do it for real. In Pixels, when intergalactic aliens discover video feeds of classic arcade games and misinterpret them as a declaration of war, they attack the Earth, using the video games as the models for their assaults -- and now-U.S. President Cooper must call on his old-school arcade friends to save the world from being destroyed by PAC-MAN, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Centipede, and Space Invaders. Joining them is Lt. Col. Violet Van Patten (Michelle Monaghan), a specialist supplying the arcaders with unique weapons to fight the aliens.

Pixels will invade theaters on July 24th.
