Red-Band Trailer for Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson's Action Comedy THE HITMAN'S BODYGUARD

Lionsgate has released the enjoyable first red-band trailer for their upcoming action comedy The Hitman's Bodyguard. The movie stars Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson. With a cinematic team up like that, you might expect great things.

I've actually already seen the movie and although it was entertaining and had some funny humor and action-packed moments, it never really quite grabbed me like I was hoping it would. The movie and the flow were kinda all over the place. It was like one of those direct to DVD B-action movies that would pop up on the shelves of your local Blockbuster Video back in the 90s.

The world’s top protection agent [Ryan Reynolds] is called upon to guard the life of his mortal enemy, one of the world’s most notorious hitmen [Samuel L. Jackson]. The relentless bodyguard and manipulative assassin have been on the opposite end of the bullet for years and are thrown together for a wildly outrageous 24 hours. During their raucous and hilarious adventure from England to the Hague, they encounter high-speed car chases, outlandish boat escapades and a merciless Eastern European dictator [Gary Oldman] who is out for blood. Salma Hayek joins the mayhem as Jackson’s equally notorious wife.

The film was directed by Patrick Hughes from a script by Tom O’Connor and it also stars Elodie Yung, Joaquim De Almeida, Kirsty Mitchell, and Richard E. Grant. It's set to hit theaters on August 18th.
