Reese Witherspoon to Star in Disney's Live-Action Tinker Bell Film

Disney has teamed up with Reese Witherspoon to bring a live-action Tinker Bell movie called Tink to the big screen. The actress is attached to star in and produce the film, which as you know, is based on the classic Peter Pan fairy character.

The script for the movie is being written by Victoria Strouse, who also developed the script for Pixar’s upcoming film Finding Dory. There’s no director attached to helm the project yet.

According to THR, the movie “will play with the idea and the timeline of the well-known Peter Pan narrative.” They also said that it will be in the same vein as Maleficent and that this Tinker Bell movie is being conceived as “the story you don’t know” and will “offer a new perspective on the character.”

Tinker Bell made her big screen debut in Disney's classic animated Peter Pan movie in 1953 and has since become a main magical symbol of the Disney brand.

Witherspoon is a solid actress who sometimes chooses crappy projects. Tinker Bell seems like it could be a great fit for her. Hopefully it ends up being better than Maleficent
