Rhys Ifans Will Play Mad Hatter's Dad in ALICE IN WONDERLAND Sequel
The Amazing Spider-Man villain Rhys Ifans has been cast in Disney's Alice in Wonderland sequel, Through the Looking Glass.
He will take on the role of a character named Zanik Hightopp, who happens to be the Mad Hatter's dad. What's interesting about this is that Ifans is actually four years younger than Johnny Depp. He just didn't age as well. I guess it doesn't really matter though as they will both be covered in make-up, and they seem like they would make a great on-screen duo.
James Bobin (The Muppets) is directing the movie, and Mia Wasikowska and Helena Bonham Carter are reprising their roles as Alice and the Red Queen. Sacha Baron Cohen has been cast as the villain in the story named Time.
Disney will release the movie on May 27th, 2016.
