Ridley Scott Says ALIEN: COVENANT Will Have "Pretty Hard R" Rating
Director Ridley Scott won a Golden Globe for The Martian earlier this week, and after the awards ceremony was over, he answered a bunch of questions in a taped press conference with a bunch of journalists who were covering the event. In that video, he says that Alien: Covenant, his upcoming in-betweenquel that's a sequel to Prometheus but still a prequel to the original Alien, is going to have a "pretty hard R" rating. He tells a story about how "extreme" the reaction was to the first film, and how he's "going to try to do that again, but much worse."
We know that Covenant will take place 10 years after Prometheus, and while it doesn't sound like Noomi Rapace will be involved this time, we know Michael Fassbender's android David will be a main character. Katherine Waterston has been cast in the lead role of a crew member of a ship that stumbles across David, and we know that every incarnation of the xenomorph will appear in the film.
Alien: Covenant hits theaters on October 6th, 2017.
