Robots Fight Back in Incredible Sci-Fi Short RISE with Anton Yelchin

Rarely do we root for the robots when they rise up against humans in the films that deal with that subject matter. But in this sci-fi film, it’s hard not to root for them. The film is called Rise, and it’s set in the near future. Here's the logline: “Sentient robots are targeted for elimination after they develop emotional symmetry to humans and a revolutionary war for their survival begins.”

The short comes from director David Karlak and writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (Feast). They did a fantastic job with it and it’s a proof of concept that they are hoping to turn into a feature film. It doesn’t hurt that they were able to cast Anton Yelchin and Rufus Sewell in the film and the special effects work is top-notch stuff!

The filmmakers raised $38,000 through crowdfunding to make this film, and I’m rooting for it and hoping that it gets a full-length feature. It definitely deserves it. This thing looks incredible!
