Rumor: Netflix's PUNISHER Series Holding Auditions For First Major Casting

A couple days ago, I said that the rumors we could see The Punisher in 2017 were not credible due to lack of casting news, and now we get this! ScreenCrush relays a report from MCU Exchange that a casting role is floating around Hollywood for the character of "Dennis Landstrom," which sounds like a fake name for David Lieberman — aka Micro.

For those unaware, Micro is a longtime ally to Frank Castle in the comics who's recently been depicted as a villain. There are many layers to this rumor, so don't get too excited:

  1. The casting is for Dennis Landstrom...which, even if MCU Exchange is drawing connections, isn't an outright announcement for a "Micro" casting.
  2. Even though the character is heavily involved in The Punisher series, it could very well mean that the character would be appearing in The Defenders, which is actually slated for 2017.

That said, we did see Micro's name on a CD inside Frank Castle's home in Daredevil, so maybe it's legit? Either way, I still think it's next to impossible we will see a full season of The Punisher in 2017.
