Ryan Phillippe In Talks With Marvel to Star in Netflix Series
Ryan Phillippe was a guest on the Howard Stern show this morning, and while he was there he revealed that he was in talks with Marvel to star in one of their upcoming Netflix series. For those of you who don't know or remember, the actor was up for the role of Captain America a few years back. It seems like Marvel kept him in mind for something else.
The 40-year old actor is currently starring in ABC’s drama Secrets And Lies, which he's great in. He didn't say what role he was specifically up for, but seeing that Iron Fist is the only main character that hasn't been cast yet, I think it's safe to say that could be the role he's up for.
There have also been unconfirmed rumors of Marvel developing a series based on The Punisher, so if that's true there's also a chance that maybe he could be up for the role of Frank Castle.
Of course there's always the possibility that he could be up for a villainous role like Bullseye, who could very well be introduced in the second season of Daredevil.
The fact that the actor was so willing to give up this information tells us that the discussions he's been having with the studio have likely been going on for awhile, and they are serious about bring him on. Phillippe is a solid actor, and it'd be cool to see see him join the MCU regardless of what character he plays.
